<\/p>\nT.G.I.F.A.S. Thank Goodness Its Friday and Saturday<\/p>\n
gorging incessantly on fattening food and sweets<\/p>\n
still enough chocolate pie left to last through Monday<\/p>\n
now more buttered mashed potatoes and gravy repeats.<\/p>\n
After Thanksgiving spending days eating leftovers<\/p>\n
a soup bone simmers used from the big ham butt<\/p>\n
all the beer drinkers have heavy duty hangovers<\/p>\n
empty cans in the trash that filled up their big beer gut.<\/p>\n
A tom turkey trots either roasted or fried to the table<\/p>\n
later I get the trots to end my rich food eating fable<\/p>\n
yet I seem to do that every single year that I am able<\/p>\n
then get comatose watching sports on the TV cable.<\/p>\n
I\u2019m thankful for family and food with God\u2019s blessing<\/p>\n
turkey, ham, sweet potatoes, and corn bread dressing<\/p>\n
pounds gained over the holidays I\u2019m just guessing<\/p>\n
my intestines bursting, high blood pressure stressing.<\/p>\n
Tom turkey asks please give me a chance to eat<\/p>\n
give me a chance to gobble like you, I\u2019ll find some<\/p>\n
low bush cranberries and some dropped apples on<\/p>\n
the ground, your control over my death is fine<\/p>\n
just give me a chance to eat before I die.<\/p>\n
The way that turkey flew and gobbled as it ran<\/p>\n
gave me a different view, changed my hunting plan<\/p>\n
it put into my head a serious change of mood<\/p>\n
instead of cold and dead I will not shoot the dude.<\/p>\n
Tom turkey now awaits carving, to be untrussed<\/p>\n
and dressed, moist and tender stays the turkey\u2019s breast,<\/p>\n
hot gravy with giblets, stuffing with corn niblets.<\/p>\n
Wishbone! The wild turkey is almost gone as<\/p>\n
Thanksgiving must the next morning at dawn<\/p>\n
Tomorrow\u2019s soup is turkey noodle, cranberry muffins<\/p>\n
a loaf of rye, hot corn bread and apple streusel<\/p>\n
freshly made whipped cream on apple rhubarb pie.<\/p>\n
