According to his brother, Saipan Tribune columnist John DelRosario, Frank Rosario had a major stroke in 2009 and had to undergo medical bypass in Honolulu, Hawaii. His condition was complicated by diabetes and had to go through dialysis due to renal failure.<\/p>\n
John said that Frank\u2019s children were by his side since last Saturday.<\/p>\n
Frank Rosario was the press secretary of former governor Pedro \u201cTeno\u201d P. Tenorio and the late former governor Larry Guerrero.<\/p>\n
Frank\u2019s career as a journalist started in a radio station, moving on to the Micronesian News Network, becoming a staff writer for Pacific Daily News, and then being hired as a public information officer for Guerrero and Tenorio.<\/p>\n
\u201cHe and I basically had the same career as the only two local journalists in our generation,\u201d John DelRosario said.<\/p>\n
Frank took up an extensive three-month course on the discipline of journalistic and news writing at the U.S. Department of Defense School of Journalism in Fort Benjamin Harrison in Indianapolis.<\/p>\n
Catherine Perry of Integrity Communications said that she has always considered Frank to be her professional mentor.<\/p>\n
\u201cWhen he was my boss at the Office of the Governor\u2019s Public Information and Protocol Office, he gave me confidence in my abilities as a communicator and problem solver,\u201d Perry said. \u201cAnd Frank always knew what was really going on, the history or intrigues behind every story.\u201d<\/p>\n
Perry said that Frank was an honest and loyal public servant through many administrations, \u201cand to me, a dearly loved and respected friend.\u201d<\/p>\n
