{"id":424290,"date":"2024-11-21T14:00:00","date_gmt":"2024-11-21T14:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/?p=424290"},"modified":"-0001-11-30T00:00:00","modified_gmt":"-0001-11-29T14:00:00","slug":"Shirley-s-cooks-up-a-storm-in-TYSL","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/Shirley-s-cooks-up-a-storm-in-TYSL\/","title":{"rendered":"Shirley\u2019s cooks up a storm in TYSL"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Shirley\u2019s Football Club cooked up a storm in two divisions of the TakeCare Youth Soccer League Fall 2024 at the NMI Soccer Training Center in Koblerville last Saturday.<\/p>\n<p>Their U14 boys team was no match to Paire FC as they defeated them, 6-1.<\/p>\n<p>Shirley\u2019s controlled the ball and the game early on with a goal just five minutes in by Izaiah Haro. That set the tone for the rest of the match as they doubled their lead another five minutes later from a goal-hungry Haro.<\/p>\n<p>Paire could not collect themselves yet at this point but had some missed opportunities that led to naught. Shirley\u2019s, on the other hand, converted yet another goal in the 13th minute from a good kick off Jpiel Calsita to boast a 3-0 lead.<\/p>\n<p>Shirley\u2019s reign of terror in the first half didn\u2019t end there as they munched up another goal in the 22nd by Justo Quitugua. After some silence, Zian Lavarias gave Shirley\u2019s a 5-0 advantage in the 34th minute that was immediately followed by their sixth and final goal by Quitugua.<\/p>\n<p>Paire then joined the party in the 46th minute from a goal by William Flores, but it was too little too late as Shirley\u2019s held on to win, 6-1.<\/p>\n<p>For their U17 girls team, Shirley\u2019s ruled, 2-0, also versus Paire.<\/p>\n<p>In other results, Matansa\u2019s U17 boys team got the better of Latte, 7-2, and Kanoa blanked MP United, 2-0.
