The Len Goodman Mirrorball trophy for Dancing With the Stars<\/a><\/em>\u00a0Season 33 was anyone\u2019s to win given the level of artistry, dedication, and skill that all five finalists exhibited throughout the season and going into last night\u2019s finale. The winning couple was Bachelor<\/em><\/a> star Joey Graziadei<\/a> and Jenna Johnson<\/a>, who turned in consistently great performances over the last 13 weeks.<\/p>\n

The show\u2019s judges \u2013 Carrie Ann Inaba<\/a>, Derek Hough<\/a>, and Bruno Tonioli<\/a> \u2013 were raising \u201c10\u201d paddles freely throughout the night. However, Inaba gave Graziadei and Johnson a \u201c9\u201d for their tennis-themed freestyle, which elicited some strong reactions from the show\u2019s studio audience.<\/p>\n

\u201cI was a little defeated [by that],\u201d Johnson told TV Insider on the post-show press line right after the finale. \u201cI thought Joey did absolutely exquisite in it. But I was actually brought back to my season with Adam Rippon<\/a> [in 2018]. I think we got [three] 8\u2019s and I was so defeated then, but we ended up winning.\u201d<\/p>\n

Graziadei already felt like a winner when he received a shoutout in a pre-taped video package during the show from his fianc\u00e9 Kelsey Anderson<\/a>. \u201cShe said I have got a leg up on her for [our wedding] dance,\u201d the Mirrorball champion said with a smile.<\/p>\n

Johnson likewise feels like a champion in the relationship department. She credited her husband Val Chmerkovskiy<\/a>, who was eliminated earlier in the season with Phaedra Parks<\/a>, for helping her win her second trophy. \u201cHe\u2019s been my No. 1 supporter throughout this,\u201d she raved. \u201cHe\u2019s been Mommy and Daddy [to our son Rome] for us right now while I\u2019ve been getting ready for this.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI don\u2019t even know how I felt [when we won],\u201d Graziadei said. \u201cI honestly blacked out. I remember Jenna screaming really loud. I remember hugging her and Val coming in. This [trophy] is heavier than I thought it would be!\u201d<\/p>\n

Graziadei shared that he and Kelsey have settled into a new place in Los Angeles where they\u2019ll be situated for the foreseeable future.\u00a0 The former Bachelor<\/em> star could have the option of having a private wedding or, given his increased popularity, the possibility of a televised special \u2013 if that were to fit in with ABC\u2019s programming needs. The risk of that, however, is that the day becomes more public than private.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019re both in the process of starting to figure it out and we both said what we want it to be for us,\u201d he said. \u201cSo, however you want to take that. We\u2019ll figure out what it is. But it\u2019s going to be just for us and we\u2019re going to make sure it\u2019s something special that we can look back on.\u201d<\/p>\n

Chandler Kinney<\/a> and Brandon Armstrong<\/a> came in third place. Like Graziadei and Johnson, they performed well and scored highly very consistently throughout the season. \u201cI\u2019m just happy to be here,\u201d Armstrong told TV Insider before he, Kinney, and the other couples headed to the airport to fly to New York City for TV appearances. \u201cI really am. It\u2019s a win for me to be here,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt was more important for our freestyle to be brilliant than our placing,\u201d Armstrong philosophized. \u201cJoey is so amazing. We\u2019re all very proud of him and Jenna.\u201d<\/p>\n

And the Winner of ‘DWTS’ Season 33 Is…<\/a><\/h3>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Kinney is not only happy to have competed alongside Olympians (runner-up Ilona Maher<\/a>, fourth place finisher Stephen Nedoroscik<\/a>) but also to have taken Armstrong to the finals for the first time in his career. \u201cI\u2019m very proud of that,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

The show opened up Kinney to a whole new audience but she feels that audiences could have gotten to know her even better through some of the pre-dance video packages had they been edited a bit differently. \u201cI wish they had shown my struggle more,\u201d she admitted with a slight laugh, \u201cbecause I did<\/em> struggle! I cried in many rehearsals because it was really hard and I never wanted it to look easy. Beyond that, I wouldn\u2019t change anything I did because I was true to myself and grateful.\u201d<\/p>\n

Football star Danny Amendola<\/a> and Witney Carson<\/a> came in fifth place but had some of the most memorable dances this season including their Wolverine\/Deadpool Jazz performance to \u201cBye, Bye, Bye\u201d during Disney Night. Speaking of the big screen, does Carson have any aspirations for a career in scripted TV or films? \u201cCarrie Ann just asked me if I\u2019ve ever acted,\u201d Carson shared. \u201cI\u2019ve thought about it, but I think dancing is where I\u2019m at right now.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cShe can really sing, too,\u201d playfully interjected Amendola, prompting Carson to respond with a laugh, \u201cNo, I can\u2019t!\u201d<\/p>\n

After a beat, she added, \u201cHeck, if they call me, I\u2019ll do an audition\u2026sure, why not?\u201d Amendola offered in support, \u201cI think you\u2019d be awesome.\u201d<\/p>\n

The pressure of learning a new dance or even two each week is now over, but Nedoroscik says he\u2019s facing a new challenge now that he\u2019s taken on the role of hosting the upcoming Dancing With the Stars<\/em> tour. \u201cI\u2019m thinking, \u2018Oh, man, I have to host this tour!\u2019\u201d the pommel horse champion said with an enthusiastic smile.<\/p>\n
