(Copernicus Sentinel\/ESA via SWNS)<\/p>\n<p><strong>By Dean Murray via <a href=\"http:\/\/swns.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">SWNS<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>An incredible satellite image shows an Indonesian <a href=\"https:\/\/talker.news\/2024\/10\/07\/volcano-eruption-triggered-explosion-as-big-as-five-underground-nukes\/\">volcano<\/a> erupting.<\/p>\n<p>The Copernicus Sentinel-2 picture captures the Lewotobi Laki Laki volcano eruption on the island of Flores in southern Indonesia on Nov. 13.<\/p>\n<p>ESA Earth Observation said Friday (22 Nov): &#8220;Mount Lewotobi Laki Laki started spewing ash and smoke on 4 November. It has, so far, killed at least ten people and forced authorities to issue large-scale evacuations.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>Artist&#8217;s impression of Sentinel-2 mission satellite. The image clearly depicts the huge plume of ash and smoke spewing from the volcano and drifting westwards.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Laki Laki is one of two adjacent stratovolcanoes on Mount Lewotobi. The volcano summits, which are less than 2 km apart, are known locally as the husband-and-wife mountains. Laki Laki means man, while its taller and broader spouse to its southeast is called Perempuan, or woman.<\/p>\n<p>While Perempuan has been dormant for decades, Laki Laki is one of the most active volcanoes in Indonesia.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>&#8220;The volcanic ash cloud also caused hundreds of flights to be canceled.
