Camacho quashed yesterday the bench warrant he issued against the suspect in a robbery case where the victim, a 65-year-old masseur, was also beaten up.<\/p>\n<p>Assistant attorney general Eileen Wisor recommended quashing the warrant after suspect Joshua Basaliso voluntarily appeared in court with his court-appointed counsel, Antonio Atalig.<\/p>\n<p>Atalig, who substituted for attorney Douglas Cushnie, explained that they failed to attend Monday&#8217;s change of plea hearing due to problems with the \u201cflow of information.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Camacho set the new change of plea hearing for Thursday, March 1, at 1:30pm.<\/p>\n<p>Camacho issued the bench warrant on Monday after Basaliso and his lawyer failed to appear at the scheduled change of plea hearing.<\/p>\n<p>Basaliso inked a plea agreement with the government in October 2011. Under the agreement, he will plead guilty to assault and battery and the OAG will recommend a sentence of time served.<\/p>\n<p>Basaliso testified for the government in the trial of his cousin and co-defendant, Nestor C. Taitano. He admitted beating up and taking the wallet of Chinese national Guoxi Liang in San Antonio on April 2, 2011.
