It was an emotional roller coaster, mirroring the way the lead went up and down for both teams.

But Parre’ Pack relied on their firepower and torched Blue Jays pitcher, Austin Piteg, with homers left and right.

Ze Lizama got Parre’ Pack on the board first with a solo shot in the second inning, then Jerome Delos Santos followed suit in the third to lead, 2-0. Blue Jays’ Terrel Rabago and P.J. Quitugua replied quickly with a run each to even it up, 2-2 at the end of the third.

Parre’ Pack’s bats went silent in the fourth, while the Blue Jays took the lead, 4-2 from runs by Devin Manahane and Alfred Manglona. Parre’ Pack then picked it back up again in the fifth. Delos Santos found the sweet spot and lit up a grand slam with already two outs on the board. With that one swing of the bat, they reclaimed the lead and were up, 6-4.

Blue Jays pitcher Piteg then helped his cause with a three-run jack of his own to overtake Parre’ Pack by one, 7-6. However, it was still anybody’s game and Parre’ Pack weren’t going down without a fight.

Then, as if on cue, Goru Iskawa and Jeremy Lizama went into clutch mode and hit back-to-back solo homers in the sixth to reassert Parre’ Pack’s dominance and lead by one, 8-7.

The Blue Jays couldn’t make a comeback like Parre’ Pack did and registered three outs before they could cross the bases on their last chance in the seventh inning.

While it was an exchange of the lead between Parre’ Pack and the Blue Jays, The Kliq outscored Ur Balls, 19-5.

Ur Balls went four scoreless innings and only reached home in the fifth inning four times. Their last run came in the sixth. But by then, The Kliq had scored 12 runs after an eight-run fourth inning.

Their insurmountable lead became even more unreachable as they slid in five more runs in their last at-bat.

It was a home run derby of sorts as The Kliq’s Keoni Kaipat clobbered two, while K.J. Villagomez, Eli Aughenbaugh, Gerald Cabrera, and James Benavente hit one each out of the park.

In other results, Wazzup slipped past Saipal, 7-6; Taotao Mona took down Luchan, 9-5; Brotherhood pummeled Homies, 24-9; Red Torch ignited against Bat Dat Ass Up and won, 10-4; and AB Team forfeited against Yayaya.

File photo shows Parre’ Pack’s Henry Lizama about to swing in the batter’s box during one of their games in the 2024 Budweiser Belau Amateur Softball Association Men’s Slow Pitch Open League at the Dandan Softball Field.

-LEIGH GASES

File photo shows The Kliq pitcher Peter Tenorio serving up a pitch during one of their games in the 2024 Budweiser Belau Amateur Softball Association Men’s Slow Pitch Open League at the Dandan Softball Field.

-LEIGH GASES

[5

post-426229","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-sports
["GET
