Netflix\u2019s<\/span> upcoming<\/span> Twilight<\/span><\/em> television series,<\/span> Midnight Sun<\/span><\/em><\/a>, might be animated, but that doesn\u2019t mean all of the original stars of the film series are looking to reprise their roles. While some have expressed an interest \u2014<\/span> Peter Facinelli<\/span><\/a>, for example,<\/span> said<\/span><\/a> it could \u201cbe fun to revisit\u201d his role as Dr. Carlisle Cullen \u2014 at least one former<\/span> Saga<\/span><\/em> star is taking himself out of the running.<\/span><\/p>\n

While chatting about his Peacock horror series<\/span> Teacup<\/span><\/em><\/a>, TV Insider asked<\/span> Chaske Spencer<\/span><\/a> for his thoughts about the new<\/span> Twilight<\/span><\/em><\/a> show, and he did not seem to already know that it was happening.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cThey\u2019re making an anime series on Netflix? Oh, well, I\u2019ll watch it,\u201d Spencer said with an air of surprise. \u201cI\u2019ll check it out. Yeah, I\u2019ll look at it.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

However, when pressed whether he is interested in reprising his role as Quileute werewolf Sam Uley, he declined. \u201cI\u2019m too old. I\u2019m too old for Sam,\u201d he said with a laugh. \u201cEven the voice\u2026 I think you can find a younger, better-in-shape actor to do that.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

The<\/span> Twilight<\/span><\/em> animated series is being written by<\/span> Sinead Daly (<\/span>Tell Me Lies<\/em><\/a>), with author<\/span> Stephenie Meyer<\/span><\/a> onboard as one of its executive producers. The series will adapt the<\/span> Twilight<\/span><\/em> spinoff<\/span> Midnight Sun<\/span><\/em>,<\/span><\/a> which was released after many, many years of anticipation and chronicles the perspective of Edward Cullen during the events of the first novel.<\/span><\/p>\n
