The dental clinic at the Commonwealth Health Center has reopened and is now ready to serve the public. The dental clinic is open from Monday to Friday from 7:30am to 4:30pm. <\/p>\n
According to Commonwealth Healthcare Corp. chief executive officer Esther Mu\u00f1a, the clinic provides preventive and curative services.<\/p>\n
\u201cServices that fall under preventive care are oral examinations, prophylaxis, X rays, fluoride varnish, and sealant applications. Services that fall under curative care are filings, extractions, root canal therapy, and gum therapy,\u201d Mu\u00f1a said.<\/p>\n
Mu\u00f1a said the clinic has one dentist, Dr. Adam J. Gentry, and three dental assistants.<\/p>\n
The clinic\u2019s reopening was made possible by a Health Resources and Services Administration grant.<\/p>\n
For now, Medicaid is the only insurance provider that is being accepted at the clinic, Mu\u00f1a said.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe provider agreement with Staywell Insurance is still being reviewed. Also the clinic is planning in the near future to have a sliding fee scale program to assist patients who have difficulty paying for dental services,\u201d Mu\u00f1a said.<\/p>\n
