(Contributed Photo)<\/figcaption><\/figure><br \/>\nWith over a hundred children registered, about 70 attended the \u201cFizz, Boom, Read\u201d 2014 Collaborative Reading Program\u2019s last session last week at the Tinian Public Library.<\/p>\n<p>According to Lorna Cruz, TPL offered activities that integrated reading, physical activities, arts and crafts, and games.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe highlight of the program was the Read-A-Loud, vocabulary challenge and essay writing contest for tenth to twelfth graders,\u201d Cruz said.<\/p>\n<p>Children who joined the contests and won took home Kindles, cellphones, assorted gift certificates, school bags, school supplies, and educational toys.<\/p>\n<p>Cruz said that TPL\u2019s Fizz, Boom, Read program is a collaboration with the Joeten Kiyu Public Library and the Tinian Mayor\u2019s Office.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTPL shares this success with our community partners who support our programs and make this summer enjoyable. We are grateful to the leadership, vendors, organizations, agencies, guest readers, volunteer judges, and individuals that made our program more enjoyable,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p>In related news, JKPL is hosting its next session of the Fizz, Boom, Read program next week at the Tanapag Youth Center from Aug. 5 to Aug. 8, from 1pm to 3:30pm. They will also conduct two more sessions in August in Kagman and at JKPL.<\/p>\n<p>This year\u2019s sponsors for TPL\u2019s summer program are Tinian Mayor Ramon M.
