Manglona ordered yesterday that Gilbert S. N. Macaranas\u2014a former Tinian police officer who served a six-month prison term for distributing methamphetamine or \u201cice\u201d\u2014be discharged from supervised release. <\/p>\n<p>Manglona also terminated the proceedings in Macaranas\u2019 case after the U.S. Probation Office reported that the defendant has complied with the conditions of his supervised release.<\/p>\n<p>Macaranas\u2019 supervised release expired on June 1, 2014. U.S. Probation Officer Melinda B. Santos recommended to the court that the defendant be discharged.<\/p>\n<p>On Dec. 7, 2010, U.S. District Court for the NMI designated Judge WM. Fremming Neilsen slapped Macaranas with a six-month prison term.<\/p>\n<p>Neilsen ordered that after completing the prison term, Macaranas shall be placed on supervised release for three years.<\/p>\n<p>The judge prohibited the former police officer from, among other things, gambling and playing at poker machines, during his probation. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>U.S. District Court for the NMI Chief Judge Ramona V.
