{"id":44641,"date":"1998-12-02T00:00:00","date_gmt":"1998-12-02T00:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/93afe6c5-1dfb-11e4-aedf-250bc8c9958e"},"modified":"1998-12-02T00:00:00","modified_gmt":"1998-12-02T00:00:00","slug":"93afe6db-1dfb-11e4-aedf-250bc8c9958e","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/93afe6db-1dfb-11e4-aedf-250bc8c9958e\/","title":{"rendered":"Kids talk adult stuff \u2014 AIDS"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Students from Oleai Elementary School yesterday launched an HIV-prevention campaign on campus to mark the celebration of World AIDS Day.<\/p>\n<p>Facing a group of fourth grade students, a team sixth-graders discussed ways to avoid AIDS.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;You don&#8217;t know when you have HIV,&#8221; said the team&#8217;s presenter.<\/p>\n<p>She told her audience not to participate in a blood compact since this might lead to transfusion of stained blood.<\/p>\n<p>The presentation marked the first time that the school introduced its HIV education through the children.<\/p>\n<p>The school formed nine teams, with members coming from the fourth to sixth grades. They were then trained to become presenters.<\/p>\n<p>They were told to discuss the otherwise off-limits-to-kids issue within the bounds of marriage.
