Pedro P. Tenorio signed yesterday a proclamation declaring December as mental health and substance abuse awareness month. The proclamation reaffirms the government&#8217;s commitment to help those suffering from mental and emotional traumas.<\/p>\n<p>Tenorio said the month will be devoted in emphasizing the importance of maintaining good mental health as well as a drug-free community.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The goals of mental health and substance abuse awareness month are to make known the need for educating our communities; to emphasize the importance of maintaining good mental health as well as a drug-free life so that, together with our children, we can grow in peace and harmony,&#8221; the governor said.<\/p>\n<p>The governor challenged private and public health care providers, including various community-based organizations and service groups, to help the government carry out its responsibility in helping people with mental illness or substance abuse problems.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Gov.
