Manglona yesterday suspended a three-year jail sentence of a Saipan resident who admitted to possession of crystal methamphetamine, or ice.<\/p>\n<p>Remedio Palacios negotiated an agreement with the government and changed her not guilty plea.<\/p>\n<p>In return, the government agreed to sentence her to three years in jail, all suspended on the condition that she be placed on a supervised probation for five years, pay a fine of $1,900 and restitution of $100 to the DARE program.<\/p>\n<p>She also waived her right to appeal the case and agreed to perform 750 hours of community work and enrol in a drug treatment program.<\/p>\n<p>Palacios was charged with two counts of delivery of ice and two counts of possession.<\/p>\n<p>Conviction would have meant a maximum sentence of 15 years in prison and $14,000 in fines.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Superior Court Judge John A.
