{"id":44974,"date":"1998-12-30T00:00:00","date_gmt":"1998-12-30T00:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/93eec406-1dfb-11e4-aedf-250bc8c9958e"},"modified":"1998-12-30T00:00:00","modified_gmt":"1998-12-30T00:00:00","slug":"93eec417-1dfb-11e4-aedf-250bc8c9958e","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/93eec417-1dfb-11e4-aedf-250bc8c9958e\/","title":{"rendered":"Tinian Dynasty sued for debt"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The operator of Tinian Dynasty Hotel and Casino is facing another lawsuit for failure to pay invoices amounting to $237,106.90 despite repeated demands.<\/p>\n<p>The complaint was filed yesterday by FPA Pacific Corp., a corporation organized and existing in Tinian against Hongkong Entertainment (Overseas) Investment Ltd.<\/p>\n<p>According to the complaint, beginning in 1998, FPA supplied construction materials, equipment and labor to Tinian Dynasty pursuant to a verbal agreement that the invoices would be paid in full within 30 days.<\/p>\n<p>The agreement also provides that Tinian Dynasty would pay 1.5 percent interest per month and attorney fees incurred in the collection of the unpaid balance.<\/p>\n<p>FDA claimed it supplied all materials, equipment use and labor requested by Tinian Dynasty and FPA performed its obligations under its verbal agreement with the establishment.<\/p>\n<p>FPA sent invoices for the materials, equipment and labor costs but Tinian Dynasty failed to pay any of the invoices despite repeated demands.<\/p>\n<p>FPA said Tinian Dynasty breached the agreement with FPA by making only one token payment of $7,000 last Nov. 27, 1998 and failed to pay the remaining balance of $237,106.90 plus interest.<\/p>\n<p>The interest as of the date of the filing of the complaint is $7,000 and is increasing at the rate of $3,556.60 per month.<\/p>\n<p>The complaint said FPA has been damaged by the breach and is asking the court to render judgment against Tinian Dynasty in the amount of $237,106.90 in unpaid invoices, pre-judgment interest of 18 percent, post judgment interest of 18 percent and attorney fees.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The operator of Tinian Dynasty Hotel and Casino is facing another lawsuit for failure to pay invoices amounting to $237,106.90 despite repeated demands.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":1,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[4],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-44974","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-local-news"],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/44974","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/1"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/comments?post=44974"}],"version-history":[{"count":0,"href":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/44974\/revisions"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=44974"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/categories?post=44974"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/tags?post=44974"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
