It is a temporary relocation for a very good intention,” Inos added.

Early last year, the Family Court discussed with the Board of Education the possibility of founding a school outside the regular school. A trip was made to Guam to tour its Planned Alternative Center for Education.

Before the year was over, a team formed by Inos was getting ready to introduce LMA. Out of the four government houses being identified for PSS use, two was assigned to the academy.

The commissioner had a long list of agencies to thank for which all helped PSS realize this vision for the youth.

“This is a school within our school,” she said.

As a school, LMA takes students for at least one quarter where counseling work is emphasized, according to supervisor Nunu Sanchez.
