{"id":45412,"date":"1999-02-04T00:00:00","date_gmt":"1999-02-04T00:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/945406bd-1dfb-11e4-aedf-250bc8c9958e"},"modified":"1999-02-04T00:00:00","modified_gmt":"1999-02-04T00:00:00","slug":"945406d0-1dfb-11e4-aedf-250bc8c9958e","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/945406d0-1dfb-11e4-aedf-250bc8c9958e\/","title":{"rendered":"LOCAL BRIEFS\nCRM approves\nfilming project"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Coastal Resources Management Office has approved the Mariana Visitors Authority&#8217;s request for a permit for a filming project by a Japanese broadcasting firm.<\/p>\n<p>The project is part of MVA&#8217;s efforts to increase visitor awareness of the Northern Marianas from Japan, the island&#8217;s main tourists source.<\/p>\n<p>The filming is being undertaken by Nigashi Nippon Broadcasting (KHB), a sister company of Asahi TV, whose main target audience is mainly teenagers, office workers, office ladies and university students.<\/p>\n<p>According to MVA&#8217;s Managing Director Perry John Tenorio, the program will put the Northern Mariana Islands in the forefront of people&#8217;s mind as a travel destination of choice.<\/p>\n<p>The filming would include feature areas like Managaha Island and all the other beaches on Saipan, Tinian and Rota. It will showcase the islands&#8217; water sports and beach activities.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The Bureau is in support of this project as we have an opportunity to showcase our islands&#8217; beauty via television. More important, we believe that this would be an excellent opportunity to receive cost-effective exposure, increase travel interest and maintain market presence of our destination,&#8221; Tenorio said in a letter to CRM Director Felipe Atalig.<\/p>\n<p>The talent and production crew will be on island until February 9. Pamintuan)<\/p>\n<p>PSS completes<br \/>\nprojects<\/p>\n<p>PSS has just completed another CIP project on Saipan which include paving of parking lots and renovation.<\/p>\n<p>Schools in San Antonio, G.T. Camacho, Garapan and Tanapag have new parking lots which have proper drainage system.<\/p>\n<p>The renovation of the Counselor&#8217;s Office of the Marianas High School is over.
