(Dr. Korham)<\/p>\n<p>\u2022Diabetes can cause what is called &#8220;end stage kidney failure&#8221; and is why the many CNMI citizens are on what is called dialysis<\/p>\n<p>\u2022Diabetes can cause high blood pressure, and cardiovascular, or heart related problems. When untreated, these can lead to death at an early age.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022Diabetes can cause disabilities which result in unemployment, a lower quality of life, and higher medical costs to the family and the community.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022Complications from diabetes can be the underlying cause of many types of fatal illnesses.<\/p>\n<p>Summary<\/p>\n<p>Diabetes is a serious disease which can affect the young and elderly, and even pregnant women.
