Reksid, a former Department of Public Lands special assistant to the secretary who was found guilty in September 2011 to the charge that he accepted a $3,000 bribe from an owner of a private company that obtained a federally funded contract from DPL.<\/p>\n<p>U.S. Probation Officer Margarita D. Wonenberg on Thursday filed in federal court a second request to continue sentencing hearing and pre-sentence investigation report in the case against 71-year-old Reksid.<\/p>\n<p>Wonenberg requested the U.S. District Court for the NMI to set the sentencing hearing scheduled for March 13, 2012 to April 24, 2012.<\/p>\n<p>The probation officer also asked the court to allow their office to submit the presentence investigation report by tomorrow, March 6.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe continuance will allow the probation officer to complete the presentence report investigation. The parties in the case have no objections to the proposed continuance,\u201d Wonenberg said.<\/p>\n<p>Jan. 25, 2012 was the original sentencing date.<\/p>\n<p>According to the U.S. government, Reksid, as then special assistant to DPL secretary, was responsible for overseeing U.S. Environmental Protection Agency grants to DPL.<\/p>\n<p>The grants include the funding for removal and disposal of unexploded ordnance left behind from World War II in Marpi area on Saipan.<\/p>\n<p>The indictment alleged that Reksid solicited a payment of $3,000 from John Scott, owner of the All-Hazard Management Professionals Inc.
