{"id":47054,"date":"1999-06-23T00:00:00","date_gmt":"1999-06-23T00:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/94cb1bcd-1dfb-11e4-aedf-250bc8c9958e"},"modified":"1999-06-23T00:00:00","modified_gmt":"1999-06-23T00:00:00","slug":"94cb1be0-1dfb-11e4-aedf-250bc8c9958e","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/94cb1be0-1dfb-11e4-aedf-250bc8c9958e\/","title":{"rendered":"PSS vows to complete\ndecade-long MHS gym"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Public School System has vowed to finally complete this year the Marianas High School gymnasium project, which began almost a decade ago but had been disrupted several times by funding problems and contract conflicts.<\/p>\n<p>Christopher Fryling, the agency&#8217;s facilities specialist, said PSS will award on Friday the contract for the cladding of the steel  structure, which remains idle after it was built more than two years ago by B&#038;R Construction.<\/p>\n<p>Fryling said PSS is awaiting the US Department of Interior&#8217;s action on the bidding proposal for the final construction work.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We expect construction to be completed in four to five months,&#8221; Fryling said.<\/p>\n<p>Fryling said the $2 million construction project would be financed through federal money and local matching funds, which would come from the $15.6 million bond recently sold by PSS<\/p>\n<p>The gym project was conceptualized in 1991.
