{"id":47807,"date":"1999-08-24T00:00:00","date_gmt":"1999-08-24T00:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/94e543db-1dfb-11e4-aedf-250bc8c9958e"},"modified":"1999-08-24T00:00:00","modified_gmt":"1999-08-24T00:00:00","slug":"94e543ee-1dfb-11e4-aedf-250bc8c9958e","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/94e543ee-1dfb-11e4-aedf-250bc8c9958e\/","title":{"rendered":"Saipan to get exposure\nin international filmfest"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Liewela: A Micronesian Story, the only cultural documentary film produced on Saipan, will be screened at a premiere international film festival in Japan.<\/p>\n<p>Lieweila is one of the 100 films selected for the Yamagata International Documentary Film Festival  (YIDFF) to be held in October, according to Fujiko Asano, project coordinator.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We intend to show your work with Japanese simultaneous translation for the audience,&#8221; Asano told Beret Strong, one of the producers of Lieweila.<\/p>\n<p>The filmfest will be held at Yamagata City, north of Japan.<\/p>\n<p>This year&#8217;s YIDFF has six programs and Lieweila will be part of the  World Special Program, a non competition segment, which has 21 entries to be screened. Lieweila will be shown on Oct. 22.<\/p>\n<p>Lieweila is a film about the Refalawash of the Northern Marianas.
