{"id":47813,"date":"1999-08-24T00:00:00","date_gmt":"1999-08-24T00:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/94e54f2c-1dfb-11e4-aedf-250bc8c9958e"},"modified":"1999-08-24T00:00:00","modified_gmt":"1999-08-24T00:00:00","slug":"94e54f3d-1dfb-11e4-aedf-250bc8c9958e","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/94e54f3d-1dfb-11e4-aedf-250bc8c9958e\/","title":{"rendered":"PSS to hold 3rd education summit"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Public School System is scheduled to hold an education summit on Sept. 8, the third in a series of conferences aimed at seeking community input into the agency&#8217;s efforts to improve the quality of public education.<\/p>\n<p>The summit will be held at Saipan Diamond Hotel.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Everybody is welcome to attend this forum. Our goal is to hear from the parents what they think about the quality of public education in the Commonwealth,&#8221; said Rey Tebuteb, teacher training coordinator for PSS and member of the  summit organizing committee.<\/p>\n<p>The first two education conferences were held on Tinian and Rota.<\/p>\n<p>Tebuteb said the major point of discussion at the summit will focus on the survey on public education conducted by PSS.<\/p>\n<p>The survey, which had 1,899 respondents, gave an evaluation of PSS performance in the area of preparing students for global changes, access to technology, instruction, extra-curricular activities, and financial management among many other things.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We want to know how we&#8217;re doing.  The participants to the summit will address all concerns raised in the survey,&#8221; Tebuteb said.
