The publisher and the management of the Pacific Publication and Printing, Inc., which operates Saipan Tribune, announce the appointment of Ms. Cookie B. Micaller as the paper’s new editor.<\/p>\n
Ms. Micaller has been a practicing journalist for over 13 years.<\/p>\n
She has worked for the Tribune for the last two years, covering the political beat.<\/p>\n
She began her journalism career as a reporter for the Philippine Times Journal, for which she covered the police and military beats.<\/p>\n
She later moved to the Philippine Star to cover foreign affairs and politics.<\/p>\n
She was a long-time correspondent for Jiji Press, a Japanese news agency.<\/p>\n
Before coming to Saipan, she was editor for the English language service of Agencia EFE, Spain’s International News Agency.<\/p>\n
“We welcome Ms. Micaller as editor of the paper,” said Publisher John S. DelRosario, Jr. “Along with our team of hardworking journalists and everyone involved in the production of the newspaper, we shall attain greater heights in fair news coverage with greater depth and definition.”<\/p>\n
