{"id":48199,"date":"1999-09-30T00:00:00","date_gmt":"1999-09-30T00:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/950207c4-1dfb-11e4-aedf-250bc8c9958e"},"modified":"1999-09-30T00:00:00","modified_gmt":"1999-09-30T00:00:00","slug":"950207d5-1dfb-11e4-aedf-250bc8c9958e","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/950207d5-1dfb-11e4-aedf-250bc8c9958e\/","title":{"rendered":"BOE tells candidates to observe election law"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Board of Elections reminded all political parties, candidates  and their supporters to observe election laws, specifically the campaign guidelines.<\/p>\n<p>BOE cited the Commonwealth Code which prohibits anybody from actively campaigning on election day.<\/p>\n<p>It also prohibits posting or transporting names, pictures or posters or other campaign materials, and setting up of  booths within 100 feet from the polling place.<\/p>\n<p>The board has designated nine public schools as polling places for Saipan, including the Kagman Agriculture Station and the chamber of the House of Representatives.<\/p>\n<p>Rota High School and Tinian Elementary School are polling places for Rota and Tinian, respectively.<\/p>\n<p>In cases where the polling place is fenced in, no person or group of person may post or transport names, pictures, or other materials or set up booth, nor may a person or group of persons loiter or socialize within 100 feet of the four corners of the fenced polling place or places.<\/p>\n<p>In the case of Gregorio T.
