The Northern Marianas College is currently conducting an intensive workshop-training on how to effectively use the Windows-based Non-Profit Series (NPS) accounting software.<\/p>\n
Attending the workshop are students and staff members of NMC’s budget and finance offices.<\/p>\n
The training is being conducted by Elizabeth Moore, a certified public account, and Ztech software consultant from Austin, Texas.<\/p>\n
The Windows-based NPS accounting software, built from the ground up, is completely different from the DOS-based Micro Information Product (MIP).<\/p>\n
However, both systems are Y2K compliant except that the MIP, being a DOS-based software, has limited features and flexibility.<\/p>\n
“Our plan is to restructure the basic accounting data. We’ll try to bring over as much data as we can,” Moore said.<\/p>\n
Moore said there are several advantages and features offered by the new NPS software.<\/p>\n
The main advantage of the NPS is that it is very user-friendly and has unlimited allotments and reporting capabilities, she explained.<\/p>\n
The Windows-based NPS accounting software and hardware are being maintained by NMC’s in-house computer technicians and operators.<\/p>\n
Moore said after the training session, those at the workshop would be able to handle the new system, which she hopes to be implemented next week.<\/p>\n
The data that will be encoded, she said, will cover figures for the new fiscal year.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
