The Marianas Visitors Authority is pleased to announce that it will be sponsoring the 1999 Children’s Christmas Candlelight Parade on Saturday, December 18, 1999 from 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m..\u00a0 The parade will start at the Bank of Guam parking lot and will head north towards the American Memorial Park. All public and private elementary schools students ages 6 to 11 are welcome to participate.<\/p>\n
Prize winning categories for this year’s event will include Best Costume, Best Singing, and Best Christmas Spirit. Also included in this year’s event will be a float competition.<\/p>\n
Prizes for this year’s event are $1,000.00 for first place in the float competition, $800.00 for 2nd place and $700.00 for 3rd place. Other prizes are $500.00 for Best Costume, $500.00 for Best Christmas Spirit and $500.00 for Best Song. A prize of $600.00 will be given to a group that will accumulates the highest points in all three categories.<\/p>\n
The overall winner will be required to participate in Christmas Caroling at hotels or at the Garapan Street Market upon the request by the Marianas Visitors Authority.<\/p>\n
All registered participants are required to fill up parental consent forms which must be submitted to MVA office along with the school’s registration form.<\/p>\n
Deadline for registration is Dec.. 1, 1999 and the deadline for the children’s parade is Dec. 3, 1999.<\/p>\n
