{"id":48924,"date":"1999-11-24T00:00:00","date_gmt":"1999-11-24T00:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/953120d6-1dfb-11e4-aedf-250bc8c9958e"},"modified":"1999-11-24T00:00:00","modified_gmt":"1999-11-24T00:00:00","slug":"953120ed-1dfb-11e4-aedf-250bc8c9958e","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/953120ed-1dfb-11e4-aedf-250bc8c9958e\/","title":{"rendered":"Appleby gets another year for escape"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Inmate Shawn Appleby will get one more year on top of his 40-year sentence for killing a businessman after Superior Court Judge Timothy Bellas suspended two of the three years jail term imposed for his recent escape from prison.<\/p>\n<p>Judge Bellas suspended the sentence after Appleby, 19, pled guilty to the escape charges.<\/p>\n<p>Appleby is currently serving a 40-year sentence for killing businessman Byung Ok Suh in November 1996 after robbing the victim&#8217;s store, Chalan Market.<\/p>\n<p>He bolted out of prison on Oct. 10, 1999 at around 7:46 p.m. with  inmates Jeronimo S. Ada and Melvin N. Basa.
