Woman assaulted<\/p>\n
Investigators of the Department of Public Safety are looking into the possibility that a 31-year-old woman may have been raped and assaulted after she was found almost unconscious behind a golf course in Chalan Kiya yesterday.<\/p>\n
Sources from the police department said the woman, a Chinese national, was bleeding from the head and was only clad in T-shirt and underwear when the golf course’s security guard found her.<\/p>\n
The police and ambulance responded to the call of the security guard.<\/p>\n
The victim was brought to the Commonwealth Health Center for treatment.<\/p>\n
Booty recovered<\/p>\n
Members of the search team have recovered a booty belonging a missing tourist, dousing hopes that the victim is still alive.<\/p>\n
According to a police report, the booty was recovered some 200-300 yards from the Bird Island lookout. DPS sources said the search may be called off.<\/p>\n
Shen Hong Wen, 30, a Chinese national was last seen heading to the Grotto in Marpi at around 12:30 p.m. on New Year’s Day. He did not return to the hotel where he was billeted.<\/p>\n
