Even if the government was to place a moratorium on the rebates and use it to pay off debt….the government would still owe 50 million dollars to it’s own people.\u00a0 That money does not belong to the government.\u00a0 That is the people’s money.<\/p>\n
I am shocked as a new arrival to the island that overpaid tax money can be kept as long as it is by the government.<\/p>\n
Why take the people’s money as interest free loan?\u00a0 This is the money people have faithfully paid in, over what they truly owe.\u00a0 AND remember, the 50 million will still have to be repaid!\u00a0 50 million only pays for third of 150 million to wipe out the entire debt….where does other 100 million come from?<\/p>\n
Perhaps cutting down the government work force to able bodied workers, who actually go to work, do their job, and then get paid like your employees do is the first step to meeting a budget.\u00a0 Not to mention that there is still not a budget as\u00a0I type.\u00a0 Also, remember the United States is trillions of dollars in debt, not even able to make the interest payments and life goes on beyond bankruptcy!<\/p>\n
Tony, what is your hidden agenda?\u00a0Is the government willing to cut back dramatically?\u00a0 If the locals ask congressmen to buy diapers, turn back on the electricity, and fund novenas, and other local religious functions….you really think they are going to let the government hold their tax rebate for two to three years?<\/p>\n
