{"id":50184,"date":"2000-02-25T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2000-02-25T00:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/956fabb9-1dfb-11e4-aedf-250bc8c9958e"},"modified":"2000-02-25T00:00:00","modified_gmt":"2000-02-25T00:00:00","slug":"956fabc9-1dfb-11e4-aedf-250bc8c9958e","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/956fabc9-1dfb-11e4-aedf-250bc8c9958e\/","title":{"rendered":"2 plead not guilty to selling &#039;ice&#039; charges"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Two men yesterday pled not guilty to charges of five counts of conspiracy to peddle crystal methamphetamine or &#8220;ice&#8221; on the island during a hearing before the U.S. District Court.<\/p>\n<p>The complaint filed by the U.S. Attorney&#8217;s Office said a cooperating witness bought &#8220;ice&#8221; from Juan W. Torres in the presence of  Nicholas C. Pinaula.<\/p>\n<p>Federal Court Judge Alex R. Munson released Mr. Torres to his wife on third party custody.  Mr. Pinaula was ordered released by the court on a $25,000 unsecured bond.<\/p>\n<p>On May 4, 1999, Drug Enforcement Agent\/ CNMI Task Force cooperating witness met with Mr. Torres and asked him for &#8220;ice&#8221;.  But Mr. Torres directed the person to Mr. Pinaula who provided two plates of &#8220;ice&#8221; for $50.00<\/p>\n<p>On Sept. 14, 1999, Mr. Pinaula told the witness of the DEA\/CNMI Task Force that he had run out of ice and asked the person to wait.  He then walked over to Mr. Torres and returned with three &#8220;plates&#8221; of  the illegal substance.
