Alex Sablan, chair of the 2000 Relay for Life, has announced the first meeting of the team captains for this year’s event to raise funds for the American Cancer Society. The Relay Rally meeting will be hosted by the Pacific Island’s Club tonight from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Charley’s Cabaret..<\/p>\n
“I attended the American Cancer Society’s training workshop in Hawaii, called the Relay for Life University, and received very valuable insight on how to make this year’s Relay even more successful”, said Mr. Sablan.<\/p>\n
Tonight’s meeting aims to provide information to the team captains who have signed up for the 2000 Relay for Life. A video tape of the 1999 Relay event will be shown, as well as some photographs.<\/p>\n
According to Mr. Sablan, over 30 teams have committed to participate in this year’s fund-raising effort scheduled for July 28. “We are targeting participation by fifty teams in 2000,” said Mr. Sablan.<\/p>\n
