The Saipan Golfers Association congratulates its president Ray Diaz for winning the SGA Monthly Club Championship Tournament for May 2000.<\/p>\n
The Bomerang, as he is best known for, shot a consistent game last Saturday at the Coral Ocean Point Country Club. Ray shot 41 in the front and 40 in the back to come in with a gross score of 81. With his 10 handicap, he netted 71, the lowest for the day to secure the monthly tour.<\/p>\n
Coming in second was Joe ‘The Kamikaze Kid” himself. The Kid shot 39 in the front and one under par 35 in the back for a total gross score of 74. With a zero handicap, his net score is zero.<\/p>\n
In third place was Joe “JD” Demapan who shot 42 in the front and 40 in the back for a total gross score of 82. An eight handicap gave Joe the same net score with the Kid but the latter prevailed on a hole by hole score card playoff.<\/p>\n
In other competition, the Bomerang once again captured closest to the pin contest at hole no. 3, the Kid took holes no. 7 and no. 12, while JD was the best on hole no. 14.<\/p>\n
The Saipan Golfers Association is planning to hold next month’s club championship tournament at the Rota Resort and Country Club.<\/p>\n
