{"id":51611,"date":"2000-05-18T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2000-05-18T00:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/95eaa26e-1dfb-11e4-aedf-250bc8c9958e"},"modified":"2000-05-18T00:00:00","modified_gmt":"2000-05-18T00:00:00","slug":"95eaa27f-1dfb-11e4-aedf-250bc8c9958e","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/95eaa27f-1dfb-11e4-aedf-250bc8c9958e\/","title":{"rendered":"Lions Club donates to community"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Fil-American Lions Club donated a pavilion facility for the public&#8217;s use as part of the group&#8217;s continuing mission to provide services to the community.<\/p>\n<p>Government leaders, on behalf of the Saipan community, accepted the organization&#8217;s goodwill offering during a special turnover ceremony at PauPau Beach, San Roque.<\/p>\n<p>It took the club many years to complete the recreational facility, according to former charter president of the Lions Club Jerry Tan.<br \/>\nAmid slow economic improvements, the civic group still managed to push through with the project,<\/p>\n<p>With the new facility in place, families can now pleasantly hold picnics and family gatherings at the site.<\/p>\n<p>Lt. Governor Jesus R. Sablan, Senator Pete Reyes, and Rep. Dino Jones were among the government officials present at the simple turnover ceremony, where they expressed appreciation for the organization&#8217;s generous contribution.
