{"id":53448,"date":"2000-09-06T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2000-09-06T00:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/9639d688-1dfb-11e4-aedf-250bc8c9958e"},"modified":"2000-09-06T00:00:00","modified_gmt":"2000-09-06T00:00:00","slug":"9639d699-1dfb-11e4-aedf-250bc8c9958e","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/9639d699-1dfb-11e4-aedf-250bc8c9958e\/","title":{"rendered":"DPS, DPH personnel mobilized"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Public safety and health personnel were mobilized yesterday to deal with possible damage caused by typhoon Saomai which was expected to hit the CNMI last night.<\/p>\n<p>The Emergency Management Office met with the Department of Public Health to prepare the medical staff and supplies that may be needed.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We have instructed the staff to prepare for any eventuality since it&#8217;s been a long time since we had the last typhoon on the island,&#8221; said Public Health Secretary Joseph Kevin Villagomez.<\/p>\n<p>The Department of Public Safety has mobilized all its personnel in two shifts to provide assistance the whole night in case there are people who may need to be evacuated.<\/p>\n<p>According to DPS Information Officer Rose Ada, the police officers will also be on standby for emergency cases.<\/p>\n<p>The Commonwealth Utilities Corporation began preparations as well following the typhoon alert raised by the governor.
