{"id":54220,"date":"2000-10-24T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2000-10-24T00:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/964db338-1dfb-11e4-aedf-250bc8c9958e"},"modified":"2000-10-24T00:00:00","modified_gmt":"2000-10-24T00:00:00","slug":"964db348-1dfb-11e4-aedf-250bc8c9958e","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/964db348-1dfb-11e4-aedf-250bc8c9958e\/","title":{"rendered":"Students prepare for All Schools Swim Championships"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Over 65 swimmers participated in the training sessions for the All Schools Swimming Championships on Saturday at the Kan Pacific Swimming Pool.<\/p>\n<p>Almost half were mot members of the Saipan Swim Club, four were from Tinian Elementary School, who for the first time took part in a swimming competition.  They were Seth Manglona, Corey San Nicholas, Mark Lero, and Ritalene Lizama.<\/p>\n<p>Also, those swimmer who competed for the Saipan Swim Club either swam their time or were close to their personal best, a good indication for the beginning of the swimming season.<\/p>\n<p>Alex Negrete, Michael and Juan Camacho, Bobby Cruz, Daniel Kim, Katie Nicholls, Brenda Atalig, Melissa Coleman, and Nicole Calvo each lowered their previous best times.<\/p>\n<p>Minerva Cabrera, Andi Negrete and Michelle Cruz turned in great performance, dropping many seconds off of last year&#8217;s record, and showed that they are ready for the 2000-2001 swimming competition.<\/p>\n<p>A brief clinic on relay swimming was conducted after the meet for all participants.
