(Contributed Photo)\" width=\"100\" height=\"62\" border=\"0\" \/>D&#8217;Pirates Bar&#8217;s Pirata shocked division leader Shark Attack of Wild Bill&#8217;s Bar &amp; Grill, 4-1, and was hailed as Saipan Billiards Association&#8217;s Obyan Division Budweiser Cup postseason tournament champions after the conclusion of Monday&#8217;s finals held at D&#8217;Pirates Bar.<\/p>\n<p>Pirata is made up of Joey Agulto, Dave Maratita, James Reyes, Randy Sablan, and Richard Santos.<\/p>\n<p>Pirata got off to a good start, sweeping both doubles matches via tiebreakers and went on to take two of the next three singles games for the crown.<\/p>\n<p>Pirata&#8217;s duos of Agulto and Sablan and Reyes and Maratita each got it done in doubles play, after which Pirata&#8217;s Santos and Maratita hung tough in the clutch.<\/p>\n<p>Santos swiftly won the first singles pairing, while Maratita later clinched the championship for his team in three sets.<\/p>\n<p>Surprisingly, Pirata finished the regular season all the way down in fifth place out of six teams, but still managed to spoil Shark Attack&#8217;s run for a perfect season.<\/p>\n<p>Pirata received a bye through the first round and then knocked off bottom-feeder Titans of 19th Hole Bar to advance to the finals.<\/p>\n<p>Shark Attack downed runner-up squad Crazy 8 and third-ranked Team SCS, both of Jonny&#8217;s Bar &amp; Grill, before stalling in the finals showdown.<\/p>\n<p>The SBA awards banquet is set to take place at 10:30am on Sunday at Charley&#8217;s Cabaret at the Pacific Islands Club Saipan.<\/p>\n<p>Contact league secretary Warlee Ellama at 233-4397 for more information.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>By Walter J.
