{"id":54910,"date":"2000-11-29T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2000-11-29T00:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/965d5a43-1dfb-11e4-aedf-250bc8c9958e"},"modified":"2000-11-29T00:00:00","modified_gmt":"2000-11-29T00:00:00","slug":"965d5a54-1dfb-11e4-aedf-250bc8c9958e","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/965d5a54-1dfb-11e4-aedf-250bc8c9958e\/","title":{"rendered":"Environmentalists shut oil project"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>SYDNEY, Australia (AP) \u2014 Environmental activists shut down a shale oil project Monday to protest the weekend collapse of international negotiations on how to cut the pollution that is warming the planet.<\/p>\n<p>On what was to be the first day of major production tests at the Stuart Oil Shale project in eastern Queensland state, six Greenpeace activists locked themselves to a shale conveyor belt.<\/p>\n<p>They also hung up a banner with the words &#8220;climate change starts here.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Canada&#8217;s Suncor Energy, one of the plant&#8217;s owners, asked the Queensland Supreme Court to order the protesters to leave.
