{"id":55220,"date":"2000-12-19T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2000-12-19T00:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/968058de-1dfb-11e4-aedf-250bc8c9958e"},"modified":"2000-12-19T00:00:00","modified_gmt":"2000-12-19T00:00:00","slug":"968058f2-1dfb-11e4-aedf-250bc8c9958e","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/968058f2-1dfb-11e4-aedf-250bc8c9958e\/","title":{"rendered":"Automobile buffs join Autofest 2000"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The American Memorial Park was inundated Saturday by hundreds of car lovers and spectators throughout the island to witness the first ever and the biggest automobile festival of the season on Saipan.<\/p>\n<p>Dubbed Autofest 2000, Saturday was an event to behold as spectators watched in awe different kinds of automobiles of different colors, style and power displayed in their best forms, competing in several categories.<\/p>\n<p>Autofest 2000 was a product of hardwork and cooperation by Saipan&#8217;s biggest companies that include Jollibee, Coca-Cola and Shell. The show also received overwhelming support from Tarosue, IT&#038;E, Megavision, Verizon, Memong&#8217;s Gumballs, Microl Corporation, Triple J, Napa and Midpac.<\/p>\n<p>The public was treated to updated and state-of-the-art telecommunications and Internet service displays by IT&#038;E and Verizon; automobile products by Midpac, Triple J and Microl; Rockford, Fosgate and Eclipse products by Tarosue; and an artistic demonstration of auto air-brushing by Megavision.<\/p>\n<p>Jollibee, Coca-Cola and Memong&#8217;s Gumball, meanwhile, satisfied the people&#8217;s taste buds.<\/p>\n<p>Autofest organizers said credit should also be given to the administration of the American Memorial Park which allowed them to use the facility for the festival; Jeffrey Tomokane who helped organize the show; Joe Camacho who hosted the program; and Maritess Acosta.<\/p>\n<p>The Commonwealth Football Team &#8220;Predators&#8221; also helped organizers by cleaning the park after the automobile festival program over the weekend.<\/p>\n<p>The winners of the Autofest 2000 are:<\/p>\n<p>Customs Bikes Category<\/p>\n<p>1.
