{"id":55344,"date":"2000-12-28T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2000-12-28T00:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/968ad9ec-1dfb-11e4-aedf-250bc8c9958e"},"modified":"2000-12-28T00:00:00","modified_gmt":"2000-12-28T00:00:00","slug":"968ad9fd-1dfb-11e4-aedf-250bc8c9958e","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/968ad9fd-1dfb-11e4-aedf-250bc8c9958e\/","title":{"rendered":"Council of PTA undergoes reorganization"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Beginning today, the Council of Parent-Teacher Association will be known as the Council of PTA Officers in yet another effort by its members to reorganize CNMI&#8217;s proactive parents and teachers after years of a relatively dormant existence.<\/p>\n<p>The council is also scheduled to elect today its new set of officers who will lead members of the newly-revamped organization. Board of Education Parental Involvement Committee Chair Roman C. Benavente has been tasked to facilitate the election proceedings.<\/p>\n<p>After today&#8217;s reorganization meeting at Pacific Gardenia, the council will strictly accommodate membership of individuals who are PTA officers at the school level, according to Mr. Benavente.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We recognize that PTA officers in schools are in the front line of PTA activities and as such will be more capable to make informed decisions about matters concerning the group,&#8221; said Mr. Benavente.<\/p>\n<p>He added that the reorganization is a &#8220;turning point&#8221; for the PTA group.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;This is aimed to rejuvenate and elaborate the efforts of the officers and the council as a whole,&#8221; he added.<\/p>\n<p>After the election of officers, the new leadership is expected to sit down and review existing by laws and plan ahead on future activities.
