The Commonwealth’s chapter of the Society of Human Resource Management, the CNMI’s professional personnel organization, will be holding its monthly membership meeting on Thursday, Jan. 11, 2001 at the Hyatt Regency Saipan.<\/p>\n
CNMI Labor Director Alfred Pangelinan will be the Society’s guest speaker for its firs meeting in 2001. Mr. Pangelinan will discuss with SHRM members and guests the aptitude testing program recently initiated by the Employment Services.<\/p>\n
The discussion is hoped to better analyze the works skills and aptitudes of local job applicants.<\/p>\n
Mr. Pangelinan will also discuss other efforts being made by his office to serve local job seekers, while answering questions from Society members and guests.<\/p>\n
This month’s meeting will provide SHRM members and guests the opportunity to speak directly with the CNMI government official responsible for all local employment services and programs.<\/p>\n
Non-members of SHRM in the business community are also invited to attend the meeting to learn about the Society, and improve their human resource knowledge through presentation and discussions.<\/p>\n
SHRM-CNMI Chapter is the Commonwealth’s foremost professional forum for discussion and training in human resource matters.<\/p>\n
Recognized as a Superior Merit Chapter, the CNMI branch is composed of human resource professionals from a variety of industries, large and small, who recognize a need for a local society of professionals in the personnel field.<\/p>\n
The CNMI Chapter is affiliated with the national organization.<\/p>\n
Chapter membership meetings are not limited to members. Prospective members and companies or individuals interested in the discussion topic are invited to attend.<\/p>\n
This week’s luncheon meeting will be held at the Hyatt Regency Saipan’s Gilligan’s Entertainment Center at 11:30am. Cost for the luncheon is $15.00 for members and $20.00 for non-members.<\/p>\n
