If you didn’t manage to get away for Christmas or New Year’s, then you have to find a way to visit Pau Pau Bar just to listen to its biggest attraction — singer Philip Garcia.<\/p>\n
With Philip’s soothing voice, it is not surprising to find the hotel’s guests, specially the women to keep on coming back. “We have our regular Japanese and local clientele who drop by almost every week just to unwind,” says Philip.<\/p>\n
Even the management at Hotel Nikko admits that Philip, who has been with them for 11 years now has become the main selling point of Pau Pau Bar. Intimacy is a hallmark of Pau Pau Bar with its modern and comfortable furniture.<\/p>\n
Hotel bars all over have developed new twist these days. Gone are gloomy dens where lonely travelers drop for a few drinks. The young traveler now is a high-energy traveler who needs a hotel bar to accommodate that energy despite long hours of working.<\/p>\n
Overlooking the ocean, Pau Pau Bar stir guests and discerning locals with cutting-edge drinks, ambiance and decor.<\/p>\n
As Philip sings his favorite old and pop songs, the mood is late-night with a subdued glow and surprisingly intimate feel.<\/p>\n
Thomas Welch, food and beverage director of Nikko, admits that the bar’s hotel setting can be intimidating for a lot of people. “People immediately concludes that the place is too expensive without even visiting the place,” says Thomas.<\/p>\n
He says the Sunday Brunch at Serena Restaurant has somehow helped erased the misconception that locals will not be able to afford the place. “We now have our regular clientele who comes here for lunch and to unwind in the evening.
