{"id":55862,"date":"2001-01-30T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2001-01-30T00:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/96ae6d3c-1dfb-11e4-aedf-250bc8c9958e"},"modified":"2001-01-30T00:00:00","modified_gmt":"2001-01-30T00:00:00","slug":"96ae6d4d-1dfb-11e4-aedf-250bc8c9958e","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/96ae6d4d-1dfb-11e4-aedf-250bc8c9958e\/","title":{"rendered":"Youths call for preservation of life"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>CNMI&#8217;s elected youth leaders have joined hands with a large group of local community members including the religious sector in denouncing abortion practices in the Commonwealth.<\/p>\n<p>Members of the 3rd CNMI Youth Congress declared their categorical position by passing this month a resolution that clearly states their pro-life stance on the issue.<\/p>\n<p>In a resolution authored by Youth Senator Joshua Blalock, the young policy-makers underscored that as life already begins to exist at the time of conception, this gift should be held sacred and cherished.<\/p>\n<p>Abortion, a thorny issue that has spurred long and heated disputes between human rights advocates and dissenting parties in various parts of the world, is a concern that continues to plague the local community.<\/p>\n<p>Notwithstanding the practice as a callous disregard for the life of another being, the youth group also expressed fears for the safety of the child&#8217;s carrier, who also faces grave mental or physical health dangers.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;A unique and individual life is being unwillfully taken and destroyed in the process of abortion,&#8221; the youth leaders believe.<\/p>\n<p>Empathizing with every woman&#8217;s right to her own life, the Youth Congress likewise underscored on the right of the unborn child to live his or her own as well.<\/p>\n<p>The youth leaders joins hundreds of pro-life advocates in the Northern Marianas who intensified efforts to denounce the practice of abortion in the CNMI, through massive information campaign that included a prayer rally.<\/p>\n<p>Since 1972, more than 14 million abortion cases were reported in the United States alone; wherein  56 for every 1,000 women who had abortion are between 18 to 19 years old.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to this, youth senators acknowledged also that abortion can be harmful to the carrier of the child in either an emotional or physical way.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>CNMI&#8217;s elected youth leaders have joined hands with a large group of local community members including the religious sector in denouncing abortion practices in the Commonwealth.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":1,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[4],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-55862","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-local-news"],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/55862","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/1"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/comments?post=55862"}],"version-history":[{"count":0,"href":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/55862\/revisions"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=55862"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/categories?post=55862"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/tags?post=55862"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
