Two incidents of riot occurred in the popular night spot GIG in Western Garapan early Sunday morning leading to the arrest of five men.<\/p>\n
Police held in custody Jason Yingling, 27; Lionel Cama Borja, 22; William Deleon Guerrero Villagomez, 30; Myron Sablan, 21; and Jesse James Laniyo, 23.<\/p>\n
According to police, the first incident occurred at 1:50am soon after they arrived at the place to accost Mr. Yingling who was in a heated argument with two other men near the DJ booth of the club.<\/p>\n
As police was escorting the 27-year-old man outside, one of those arrested sneaked from behind and slapped Mr. Yingling on the neck area.<\/p>\n
The action, however, heated up after Mr. Yingling, ignoring the presence of uniformed men, retaliated and a fight ensued where several other men joined in.<\/p>\n
Police managed to break the riot only after yielding their Department of Public Safety-standard issue maces on the men.<\/p>\n
However, 45 minutes later at 2:35am, as policemen were about to assist one of the arrestees inside the patrol car, Jesse James Laniyo came from behind and started kicking him.<\/p>\n
Mr. Yingling who lost consciousness during the riot was approached by medics to give him first aid but he refused them. He was eventually transported to the Department of Corrections.<\/p>\n
Talking to police after the incident, the wife of Mr. Yingling said the melee started when a group of strangers ganged up on his husband and started kicking and punching him.<\/p>\n
