Drunk dares man to a duel<\/p>\n
A drunken male who attempted to pick a fight with a drinking mate Tuesday night ended up spending the night in jail, remanded for charges of disturbing the peace in a residence in Chalan Kanoa.<\/p>\n
Police said yesterday 47-year-old Romulo Rollon Jimelo was arrested based complaints that he tried to beat up a 49-year-old Filipino male for no apparent reason.<\/p>\n
In police interview with the victim, it was learned that the suspect was in a drinking spree with his buddies when he suddenly felt the urge to engage in a sparring match.<\/p>\n
The victim further stated that the suspect had bluntly asked for a fight.
\nIn initiating what could have been a violent encounter, Mr. Jimelo reportedly secured the infant he carried on his arms to a friend next to him at the drinking table.<\/p>\n
Police quoted the victim saying the suspect had expressed desire to “kill” him.<\/p>\n
Before the situation could go out of control, the victim immediately called for police assistance.<\/p>\n
When authorities arrived at the scene, the suspect was arrested and transported to the detention facility.<\/p>\n

A pair of male thieves who apparently operate by a vehicle on standby are suspects behind a robbery incident in Western Garapan, victimizing two Japanese tourists who were walking south of Remington’s Night Club Tuesday evening.<\/p>\n
DPS spokesperson Cecil Celes said yesterday the Japanese nationals in their early 20s were taking a stroll on the beach across the night spot when an individual from behind grabbed the lady’s brown purse.<\/p>\n
Inside the bag were $30 to $40 in cash, a bus pass, a guide book, and a $300-worth camera, police said.<\/p>\n
The victims told police the suspect swiftly ran towards a car with its engine running that was parked towards the highway, apparently in a getaway position.<\/p>\n
Luckily, the Japanese pair was quick to jot down the license plate of the speeding vehicle.<\/p>\n
