After the series of illegal drug busts during the past week alone, Hopwood Junior High School has found itself in another fix with gang-related violence currently besetting the campus.<\/p>\n
Police reported a gang-up incident that occurred on Thursday involving a group of Hopwood teenagers versus a 12-year-old Chamorro girl which the suspects reportedly staged at the HJHS beach area.<\/p>\n
In an interview with police investigators, the victim stated she was sitting outside one of the classroom buildings when a 13-year-old Palauan girl confronted her about rumors over alleged “name-callings” circulating around the campus.<\/p>\n
Later that day, the victim claimed a schoolmate summoned her to the campus beach site.<\/p>\n
Reaching the place alone, she found herself surrounded by a group of girls, apparently wailing for the suspect to initiate a sparring match with the victim.<\/p>\n
The girls allegedly pushed the suspect towards the victim which caused the latter to fall to the ground.<\/p>\n
Then, the suspect reportedly jumped on top of her and started punching her on the head area, police said.<\/p>\n
The victim told police the suspect continued to assault her while the girls cheered in the background.<\/p>\n
The girl added she struggled to run away from the gang towards the Principal’s Office, where she reported what had transpired at the beach site.<\/p>\n
When authorities arrived at the campus, two 13-year-old girls from Dandan and Chinatown were arrested for assault and battery.<\/p>\n
It was not indicated whether the victim sustained any injuries as a result of the fight.<\/p>\n
The case is still pending before police for investigation.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, the two juvenile arrestees were booked for detention. Their case has been forwarded to the Division of Youth Services.<\/p>\n
