They were released promptly after treatment.

Their other companion, Ping Liu, 23, however, did not make it to CHC alive. She was pronounced clinically dead at around 1:15 Sunday morning. She also suffered a fractured leg from the incident.

The victims are employed by the Mirage Garment Factory.

An eyewitness told police that his vehicle, with the hazard signal on, was stationary at the Gualo Rai road near Gold’s Gym to make way for three Chinese pedestrians who wished to cross the street that evening.

According to the onlooker, he had noticed a vehicle in the inner bound lane heading from south to north at high speed.

The witness told police the vehicle did not seem to be slowing down.

Nearing the pedestrian lane, the spectator noted that he heard loud squeaky noises which he described as an attempt by the operator to stop the car.

The driver apparently slammed on his breaks upon seeing the pedestrians making their way across the street.

Police reports reveal that the driver’s move to stop came too late. At the speed he was going, authorities remarked he was bound to hit the pedestrians.

The vehicle then struck the Chinese workers, completely throwing them off the cross-walk and down to their point of rest, said police.

Medics were immediately summoned to the scene of the accident. From there, the victims were carried to the hospital.

Meanwhile, Mr. Cabrera’s vehicle was impounded and is currently under the custody of the Department of Public Safety for evidence purposes.

The operator of the vehicle has been cited for several violations in connection with the auto-pedestrian fatality.

The case is still under investigation.

A speeding vehicle that failed to yield for pedestrians treading on a Middle Road cross-walk Sunday night knocked three Chinese workers off the road, leaving one dead from severe head injury, said police.

[4

post-56860","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-local-news
["GET
