A full house occupied chamber 223 of the Susupe courthouse yesterday, where the Commonwealth witnessed the formal installation of CNMI’s 15th Superior Court judge.<\/p>\n
In the presence of close relatives, supporters and dignitaries from all sectors of society, Associate Judge David A. Wiseman filled the 5th Superior Court bench during a swearing in ceremony administered by Gov. Pedro P. Tenorio.<\/p>\n
A special session was called to order at yesterday’s ceremony led by Presiding Judge Edward Manibusan with members of the local judiciary.<\/p>\n
In presenting Mr. Wiseman to the scores of attendees, Mr. Manibusan started by describing the occasion as an important step in what is hoped to be the newly-installed judge’s extensive and fruitful career in the administration of justice.<\/p>\n
“This is a special occasion for the court. The oath will remain with him for years to come which will serve as a reminder of his responsibilities when he deals with cases ranging from the smallest claims to the most controversial and serious. This is a great day for the judiciary,” said Mr. Manibusan.<\/p>\n
Faythe Marie Wiseman was given the honor of robing the newest member of the Superior Court.<\/p>\n
Finally clad in his very own black robe, Mr. Wiseman stepped up to the court bench, joining Associate Judges Juan T. Lizama, Virginia Sablan-Onerheim, and Presiding Judge Manibusan.<\/p>\n
In addressing his crowd of supporters and colleagues, Mr. Wiseman could not disguise elation over his long-awaited aspiration come true.<\/p>\n
He took time yesterday to recognize each and every individual present at the swearing-in ceremony, scanning the room for familiar faces.<\/p>\n
“I am overwhelmed. There are so many people to thank. I want to express my gratitude to Gov. Tenorio, the honorable senators, and to the wonderful friends who supported my nomination, especially my wife and daughter,” said the new judge.<\/p>\n
Wholeheartedly accepting the judgeship post, Mr. Wiseman pledged to uphold the Commonwealth Constitution and laws, vowing to be a fair and good judge.<\/p>\n
