{"id":56948,"date":"2001-03-30T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2001-03-30T00:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/96e6ff94-1dfb-11e4-aedf-250bc8c9958e"},"modified":"2001-03-30T00:00:00","modified_gmt":"2001-03-30T00:00:00","slug":"96e7002d-1dfb-11e4-aedf-250bc8c9958e","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/96e7002d-1dfb-11e4-aedf-250bc8c9958e\/","title":{"rendered":"Student breaks finger in wrestling"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>What started out as a wholesome game of finger-wrestling resulted in an accident that confined a 15-year-old Marianas High School student to the hospital.<\/p>\n<p>Department of Public Safety Fire Unit personnel rushed to the MHS campus earlier this week to respond to an emergency call made by school authorities involving a high school student.<\/p>\n<p>The victim, whose name has not been disclosed, sustained a twisted right middle finger, resulting from a finger-wrestling match with a schoolmate, according to police.<\/p>\n<p>In an interview with authorities, the victim stated he had bid his playmate to stop the finger struggle but his warning apparently came too late.<\/p>\n<p>The boy said he found his middle finger already twisted.<\/p>\n<p>The injured student then reported the incident to school authorities and from there medical assistance was sought.<\/p>\n<p>The teenager was transported to the Commonwealth Health Center for further treatment.
