{"id":57152,"date":"2001-04-11T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2001-04-11T00:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/96f69e49-1dfb-11e4-aedf-250bc8c9958e"},"modified":"2001-04-11T00:00:00","modified_gmt":"2001-04-11T00:00:00","slug":"96f69e5c-1dfb-11e4-aedf-250bc8c9958e","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/96f69e5c-1dfb-11e4-aedf-250bc8c9958e\/","title":{"rendered":"Youth cage tourney spews heat"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Dandan Blazers, DARE Regulators, SV Suns and SA Sixers triumphed against separate opponents in the continuation of the elimination round of the Island-wide Village Youth Basketball League last Sunday at the Ada Gym.<\/p>\n<p>Dandan Blazers routed the Young Warriors 58-22 to improve their record to 2-1, while pushing the Young Warriors deeper in the cellar with 0-4 card. The Blazers were led by Lester Babauta&#8217;s 16 points and Roger Hernandez&#8217;s 14 points. The Young Warriors&#8217; Donald Seidler and Jesse Norita topscored in a losing cause with eight markers apiece.<\/p>\n<p>In the second match, DARE Regulators kept DARE outlaws from breaking to the win column as they won in a likewise lopsided game, 52-28.  Treat Kaipat led the Regulators with a game-high 21 points. He was ably supported by the 13 points of Frank Blas.<\/p>\n<p>The Enforcers got eight points each from Ray Lizama and Lawrence Limes. The Regulators improved to 2-2, while the Outlaws accompanied the Young Warriors at the bottom of the team standings with 0-3 slate.<\/p>\n<p>The third contest of the quadruple header saw the SV Suns going up against DARE Enforcers. The result was a 42-32 win by the Suns, which were led by C. Sanchez&#8217;s 10 points and C. Tenorio&#8217;s eight markers. The win enabled the Suns to remain within striking distance of CK Hoosiers immaculate 4-0 record as it improved to 3-1.<\/p>\n<p>In the final game of the afternoon, the SA Sixers nipped Verizon Garapan in a hard-fought game, 47-40. The Sixers were led by Brian Flores&#8217; 19 points and Jack Sanchez&#8217;s 12 points.
