A 17-year-old Marianas High School student who tried to resist police arrest for minor consuming alcohol charges ended up hurting himself in the process, sustaining a laceration on one hand.<\/p>\n
He was picked up by authorities Wednesday along with a schoolmate, after they were detained at the MHS counselor’s office for alleged unruly behavior.<\/p>\n
Both male students vehemently denied to police they consumed any alcohol that afternoon. But police records reveal that the dispatched officer smelled alcohol emitting from the minors’ exhale breath during their encounter.<\/p>\n
When police attempted to place the pair of teenagers inside a patrol car, the subjects reportedly behaved belligerently all the way to the central station.<\/p>\n
While being booked, both still refused to cooperate with authorities.<\/p>\n
The older suspect even tried to take a swing at one police officer but instead ended up slamming his hand against the glass wall, causing it to break.<\/p>\n
The 17-year-old sustained a laceration on his right hand and was transported to the Commonwealth Health Center for treatment.<\/p>\n
The injured suspect has further been cited for assault and battery and criminal mischief raps, aside from minor consuming alcohol charges.<\/p>\n
His friend has been charged with minor consuming.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, two Hopwood Junior High School students were also nabbed for the same offense inside the campus Wednesday. Two 13 and 14-year-olds were arrested and charged for minor consuming at around 11am. (MM)<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
